The Waisman Center is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases throughout the lifespan. This position will be a staff member within the Language Processes Laboratory. The Language Processes Laboratory focuses on investigating the developmental course and nature of language processing in typically developing children, late takers, and children with specific language impairment (SLI).

The primary purpose of this position is to provide autism diagnostic evaluations and developmental testing for participants in a research project examining prediction abilities in toddlers with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), directed by Drs. Susan Ellis Weismer and Jenny Saffran. The psychologist is responsible for sharing evaluation results, including a Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5) ASD diagnosis, if appropriate, with the child's parents/guardians and making general treatment recommendations and writing written evaluation reports. Additional duties include recruitment of participants, data analysis, and dissemination of study results.
