/Job Summary
The Department of Pediatrics, in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking to recruit a licensed Pediatric Psychologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at 1.0 FTE in support of the Center for Pediatric Development, Behavioral Health, and Wellbeing. This center will promote wellness for children and adolescents, addressing social-emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns that may include but are not limited to:
Attention and hyperactivity disorders, autism spectrum disorder, behavioral and developmental challenges due to chronic medical conditions, speech and language disorders, intellectual disability, learning disorders, neuromotor disabilities, and other conditions.
The psychologist will join a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician, 2 general pediatricians focused on behavioral health, a clinical psychologist, and a psychometrist. There are opportunities available for collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior, including the ability to engage with their nationally recognized, APA-accredited Psychology Internship Training Program, postdoctoral fellowship programs, and interdisciplinary consultation teams. Additional supervisory and teaching opportunities exist with the Medical College and Children’s Hospital, including with medical students and the pediatric residency program.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Direct evidence-based consultation, evaluation, and integrated behavioral health interventions related to a range of developmental disabilities, with a particular focus on assessment of suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
· Design and implement brief behavior modification programs as part of a psychological treatment plan.
· Participate in workshops and case conferences where developments in child psychology are discussed.
· Participate and contribute to the training of medical students, residents and fellows. Training may include supervision and didactic presentations.
· Contribute to program development including involvement in ongoing quality improvement projects.
Required Qualifications
Must have a doctorate degree in clinical or school psychology from an accredited university, an internship from an APA-approved program, completed a postdoctoral fellowship, and have ample experience in working with pediatric populations, including evidence-based evaluation and treatment of autism spectrum disorder, with mastery in the administration of the ADOS-2. Must be eligible for a license to practice independently in the state of Georgia.
Preferred Qualifications
· A history of successful academic and scholarly activity related to the field of clinical psychology and/or Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.
· Experience with teaching.
