Clinical Psychologist Position at the Center for Autism and the Developing Brain (CADB) at Weill Cornell Medicine

Weill Cornell Medical College’s Department of Psychiatry in conjunction with New York-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a full-time Clinical Psychologist to join our faculty for a position based at the Center for Autism and the Developing Brain (CADB) at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Westchester Division in White Plains, New York.  The individual will be expected to play an integral role in diagnostic assessment and implementation of interventions for children and adolescents diagnosed or suspected of having an Autism Spectrum Disorder. As part of the core training mission of the Department of Psychiatry, the psychologist will supervise trainees, including postdoctoral psychology fellows, and medical residents.  The psychologist will be expected to collaborate with members of the treatment team to run group based intervention for children, adolescents, adults and their families. They will also conduct trainings related to assessment measures and treatment procedures developed and/or used by staff at CADB. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in assessment of Autism Spectrum Disorders, including the use of the ADOS and ADI-R, and the application of evidenced-based intervention approaches with individuals and families.

Minimum requirements:  Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program and possess or be eligible for NY state licensure.  Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. 

Start Date: Spring or Summer 2018.

Program Description:
Within the Behavioral Psychology/Autism Spectrum Disorder track, training opportunities include intervention with children/adults with disabilities and behavioral challenges, development of functional behavior assessments, and participation in community outreach programs/conferences.  BCBA certification supervision hours available.

Both tracks provide professional seminars in developmental disabilities, early intervention, and career development. Psychology Fellows also take part in a 9-month, federally-funded Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program featuring developmental disabilities training from a multi-disciplinary perspective, participation in a research group on disability-related topics, and training in legislative advocacy skills. Additional training experiences are available at WIHD and can be integrated into candidates’ program based on interest.

Pediatric Neuropsychologist Position Available

The UAMS Department of Pediatrics is seeking applicants for a clinical faculty position at the Schmieding Developmental Center in Lowell, AR.  The appointment will be in the Department of Pediatrics at UAMS, the largest Department in the Medical School. Desired applicants will have training in pediatric neuropsychology and/or pediatric psychology with experience in pediatric assessment.  This faculty member will have primary responsibilities for conducting assessment in an outpatient setting with growing opportunity to assist with inpatient consults and the development of multidisciplinary evaluation teams as Arkansas Children’s Hospital opens in Northwest Arkansas.  The program serves a diverse population and accepted referrals include neurological disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, genetic disorders, complex learning and attention problems, social deficits, and children with chronic medical problems.  This clinic serves children from birth to 21 years of age.  Candidates should be comfortable with all children age 4 and up and willing to extend their skills downward to the evaluation of infants and toddlers. Candidates with a specific interest in a younger age group and comfort with questions related to Autistic Spectrum Disorder are desired.  The faculty position would be at a rank determined by years of experience.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from an APA approved program and post-doctoral training in developmental psychology, pediatric psychology, or neuropsychology. 

 The Schmieding Developmental Center currently employs 7 clinicians (1 child and adolescent psychiatrist, 1 psych examiner, a social worker, a Medical Psychologist, 2 neuropsychologists, a psychometrician, and typically one post-doctoral fellow).  The clinic sees over 450 patients per month with additional growth expected.

The UC Davis MIND Institute announces the availability of one full-time NIH-funded post-doctoral position, primarily within the Translational Psychophysiology and Assessment Laboratory (T-PAL), under the direction of Professor David Hessl. T-PAL is focused on assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders, with current emphasis on fragile X and Down syndromes, autism spectrum disorder, and intellectual disabilities broadly defined. Dr. Hessl also co-directs a longitudinal study focused on trajectories and markers of neurodegeneration in adult carriers of the fragile X premutation, a group at risk for development of a progressive neuro-motor disease, fragile X-associated tremor ataxia syndrome (FXTAS).

The Child Development Center is an established interdisciplinary program designed to serve the needs of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorders.  The Child Development Center is part of Nationwide Children's Hospital Pediatric Behavioral Health program and collaborates within the Section of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics. Our program is one of 17 sites within the Autism Speaks Autism Treatment Network, the Autism Intervention Research Network on Physical Health, the SFARI SPARK Clinical Site Network.  Weparticipate in a wide range of multi-site, externally funded clinical research projects.

The Child Development Center is one of the most comprehensive and largest neurodevelopmental psychology departments in the country and is part of one of the largest Pediatric Behavioral Health units. We have new and expanded positions open for individuals who are interested in working in a multi-disciplinary setting focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children referred for possible autism and other developmental delays and disabilities.  Our Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Psychologists work with Developmental Behavioral Pediatricians, Neurologists, Nurse Practitioners, Speech and Language Pathologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Genetic Counselors, and GI specialists.  We have a large and diverse psychology faculty, an APPIC approved internship track, and a well-established post-doctoral fellowship program.  Our faculty also participates in graduate student training and development as well as medical education. 

We are specifically looking for psychologists interested either of the two following areas:

1) Implementing short-term, targeted evidence based treatments for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

2)  Evidence based psychological testing for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other neurodevelopmental conditions.  We are looking for a colleague interested in developing targeted assessments to re-evaluate progress and design treatment interventions for this population as well as participating in our established diagnostic assessment program. 

Applicants should have experience in working with children with developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders. Candidates must possess a doctoral degree in psychology and be license eligible in Ohio. The completion of formal post-doctoral training is highly desirable. Assistant/Associate Professor and Program Director, Drake University

Title: Assistant/Associate Professor and Director of the Master's Program in Applied Behavior Analysis

Description: Drake University invites applications for a consecutive term faculty position with option to convert to tenure track based upon enrollment for an Assistant or Associate Professor and Director of the Master's Program in Applied Behavior Analysis.  This position is in the Leadership and Counseling Department of the School of Education.  The faculty member would contribute to the newly developed Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program.  A Ph.D. in ABA or closely related field is required prior to the starting date in addition to certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.  Expertise in challenging behavior assessment and treatment is desirable.  Candidates must be committed to excellence in graduate teaching with the opportunity to contribute to the SOE EdD and PhD program.  Primary teaching assignments include principles of behavior, research methods in behavior analysis, behavioral assessment and intervention, and courses within the candidate’s area of expertise.  Supervision of graduate student practicum experiences and collaboration with SOE Counseling and Special Education faculty is expected.  This is a newly developed program with anticipated growth in students and faculty members in the first years. This position is pending funding.

Duties: Coordinate the graduate program, teach courses that contribute to the curriculum, provide supervision for graduate students, participate in student recruitment, participate on doctoral committees within the School of Education, and assist with future faculty hires.
