The Psychology Program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital has an immediate opening for a pediatric psychologist with a focus on autism and neurodevelopmental disabilities, with primary responsibilities in psychological evaluation. Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital is a tertiary care children’s hospital serving the west coast of Florida. The Psychologist will be responsible for clinical, research, and education/training endeavors. The position will be responsible for evaluation and diagnosis of children and adolescents with autism and neurodevelopmental disabilities, as well as behavioral disorders and learning disorders. Scholarly activities include active participation in current research and educational programming.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. This position is primarily clinical, with the provider being responsible for diagnosing and treating neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions of patients referred to the Psychology outpatient clinic as well as within the Autism Program.
2. Position will be responsible for participating in the supervision of psychology interns, fellows, and trainees, and allowing observation by Pediatrics residents and other medical trainees to facilitate positive training experiences and broaden awareness and understanding of psychological factors related to/impacting health.
3. Position will have a small annual research requirement consisting of presentations and/or co-authorship on papers. Research opportunities across disciplines are available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education – Doctoral degree from an APA-approved doctoral and internship program with an emphasis in clinical psychology, developmental psychology, school psychology, or counseling psychology; At least 1 year of post-doctoral experience with emphasis in pediatric psychology or autism/neurodevelopmental disabilities
• Relevant Experience – Must have experience working in a medical setting; Must have experience in assessing and working with youth ages birth-22 who have confirmed or suspected medical and/or psychological conditions
• Licensure/Certification – Must have a Florida Psychologist license or be license eligible
• Skills and Abilities –Working knowledge of standard PC based applications required. Must be flexible and have good time management and communication skills.
