Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship – Intellectual and Developmental Disability, Columbus, Ohio


The Ohio State University Nisonger Center – UCEDD 
offers an interdisciplinary clinical and research postdoctoral training in Intellectual/Developmental Disability (IDD) and Autism. The Nisonger Center offers flexible and individualized interdisciplinary clinical and research training in the areas of IDD/autism. Areas of emphasis can include diagnostics, the co-occurrence of mental health concerns in IDD, mental health treatment in IDD, educating IDD providers, transition to adulthood, and adult social programs. There are a number of research grants and programs fellows can be involved in. Positions typically include a strong emphasis on conducting assessments in interdisciplinary clinics with clients from early childhood to early adulthood, including umbrella supervision of doctoral students. There may be additional opportunities to conduct therapy with adults with IDD. Fellows also participate in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) program. The postdoctoral fellowship is 12 months beginning August 1st, 2025, with an optional second year pending funding. Postdoctoral fellow annual salary will follow guidelines set in the NIH Guide Notice and will receive OSU benefits as a “postdoctoral researcher.”The position is contingent on expected availability of funds.

The Nisonger Center was founded in 1966 as an interdisciplinary program of The Ohio State University. The Nisonger Center is a federally funded University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and part of the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. We have an interdisciplinary faculty that includes approximately 110 faculty and staff from more than 15 disciplines including psychology, psychiatry, pediatrics, dentistry, special education, social work, speech and language pathology, early childhood education, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, applied behavior analysis, public health, audiology, and parent advocacy. Requirements:

  • Completed doctoral degree in psychology 

  • Demonstrated interest/experience in Intellectual/Developmental Disability or Autism
