This position is responsible for the proper operation of the Psychological Training & Consultation Center (PTCC). The director is responsible for the direction, management, coordination, and supervision of the Center in order to promote high standards of professional training and practice including adherence to ethical and legal standards of professional conduct and client care. The director is also expected to provide psychological assessments and evaluations as well as teach one course per semester and offer clinical supervision.

 

In addition, the director acts as the director of the Approved Autism Evaluation Center (AAEC). The AAEC director is responsible for providing autism assessment/psychological evaluations and coordinating AAEC services, including psychological, speech-language pathology, and medical evaluations, interdisciplinary team meetings, and family feedback meetings for each client. The AAEC director also acts as a liaison to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Care Network, and other insurance payers. Lastly, the AAEC director works closely with the Carls Center Director and staff for coordination of daily operations, including finances and budgeting.

Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA accredited program in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology.

Currently licensed as a psychologist or license eligible at the time of hire in the State of Michigan.

Pediatric Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellowship

Geisinger’s Autism and Developmental Medicine Institute is seeking one pediatric psychology postdoctoral fellow for the 2023-2024 training year. Individuals with a doctoral degree in school or clinical psychology from an APA accredited university who will be license-eligible in Pennsylvania after fellowship are welcome to apply. Completion of an APA accredited internship is preferred but not required.

 

Opportunities for training include working within a multidisciplinary team to evaluate the developmental, social, and behavioral needs of children with suspected developmental disabilities and/or autism. The Waisman Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking nominations for predoctoral trainees from underrepresented groups to visit our center. The goal of this visit is to learn about our NIH-funded postdoctoral training program on research in intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). During the 2-day visit, the trainee would learn about research at the center, meet with investigators, share a meal with current postdoctoral fellows, and tour campus and Madison.

The trainee must be: 1) a PhD student in the last two years of their doctoral program; 2) engaged in research and training on IDD; and 3) from an economically disadvantaged background or underrepresented racial/ethnic group as defined in nomination instructions.

The Waisman center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is dedicated to advancing knowledge about human development, developmental disabilities, and neurodegenerative diseases through research, training, services, and outreach.

Postdoctoral fellows work with faculty who are engaged in social-affective, communication, and biobehavioral research as applied to individuals with a variety of types of IDD (e.g., autism, fragile X syndrome, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy). The Waisman Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is recruiting postdoctoral trainees for its NICHD-funded Postdoctoral Training Program in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research. Appointments will be for 2 years beginning in the summer of 2023. The program provides multidisciplinary training with an emphasis on social affective processes, communication, family processes, epidemiology, genetics, and biobehavioral research on intellectual and developmental disabilities. Faculty use sophisticated statistical approaches, longitudinal research methods, brain imaging methods, GWAS, social genomics, and psychobiology, among other approaches to data collection and analysis as applied to intellectual and developmental disability.

NIH also provides funds for tuition, travel, and research supplies. Clinical Postdoctoral Fellow Position, Center for Autism and the Developing Brain, Department of Psychiatry, Weill Cornell Medicine

Weill Cornell Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time Psychology postdoctoral fellow to join the clinical team for 1 year (with the expectation of a second year) at the Center for Autism and the Developing Brain (CADB) at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Westchester Behavioral Health Center in White Plains, New York. The overall emphasis of the fellowship is to train clinical psychologists to provide innovative assessments and efficacious therapeutic interventions to young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families. In consultation with members of the CADB faculty, the fellow will develop a plan to address their specific training goals.

 

The fellow will be expected to actively participate in diagnostic assessment and implementation of interventions for individuals diagnosed or suspected of having ASD. The fellow will have the opportunity to see patients across the full lifespan, including toddlers and adults. The position entails the provision of direct clinical services, which will include psychological assessments, individual and family therapy sessions, and group-based interventions. The fellow will receive training and specialization in diagnostic instruments, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2). The fellow will also have the opportunity to participate in the CADB Early Intervention program, which includes the delivery of Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBIs) in a classroom setting, individual caregiver coaching sessions with families using NDBIs such as the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM), and onsite support and psychoeducational group sessions with the caregivers. The fellow may have the opportunity to participate in research projects conducted by the CADB faculty.

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in the application of diagnostic assessments and evidence-based intervention approaches for individuals with ASD. The fellow will be expected to work well with families and effectively collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team.

Job Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking to recruit a licensed Pediatric Psychologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at 1.0 FTE in support of the Center for Pediatric Development, Behavioral Health, and Wellbeing.  This center will promote wellness for children and adolescents, addressing social-emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns that may include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·       Direct evidence-based consultation, evaluation, and integrated behavioral health interventions related to a range of developmental disabilities, with a particular focus on assessment of suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  

·       Design and implement brief behavior modification programs as part of a psychological treatment plan.

·       Participate in workshops and case conferences where developments in child psychology are discussed.

Required Qualifications

Grant A Gift Autism Foundation – Ackerman Center is looking for a full-time clinical psychologist who has expertise in providing comprehensive psychological and academic evaluations for children and adolescents with a variety of concerns, ages 2 to 20 years of age, along with providing therapy to established patients. The Westchester Institute of Human Development (WIHD), a University Center for Excellence in

Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDD) is seeking a full-time

licensed psychologist to provide behavioral treatment services as part of the Integrated

Behavioral Health program providing high-quality, evidence-based, disability advocacy

informed, person-centered psychological services to individuals with Autism and Intellectual and

Developmental disabilities (IDD) of all ages and abilities, and provides evidence-based

treatment for a wide variety of challenging behaviors and co-occurring conditions. We work with

individuals, their families, and agencies to provide behavior analytic, cognitive and behavioral

psychotherapy, caregiver and family training, and other evidence-based modalities.

Psychologists collaborate with staff in assistive technology, dental, speech, and medical

departments to assist our clients with accessing services, with group homes, and schools.

This position is primarily clinical, but within the UCEDD there are optional additional

opportunities to participate in research, training, supervision, and contract work. This position

would be ideal for an early-career or other psychologist looking for a position in which to grow

and establish their career in working with individuals with Autism and IDD, or to develop and

improve skills in applied behavior analysis. A faculty appointment at NYMC may be available on

Position: Psychologist II,  Child & Adolescent

 

The UC Davis MIND Institute is a research and clinical center whose mission involves awareness, understanding, prevention, care and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). We are committed to supporting children and families to address the challenges associated with neurodevelopmental disabilities and to do so in a manner that reduces disparities and ensures equitable access for members of our community. The MIND Institute houses 3 federally funded Center grants: Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (IDDRC), Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (CEDD), and Autism Center of Excellence; and 3 federally funded training grants: Autism Research Training Program, Developmental Behavioral Pediatric Training Program, and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (LEND) training program. The MIND Institute is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time clinical psychologist in the Massie Family Clinic. The clinic primarily serves pediatric patients with neurodevelopmental disabilities (NDDs) and co-existing psychiatric conditions. 

 

We are seeking candidates interested in conducting neurodevelopmental/psychological assessments and/or providing evidenced-based anxiety treatment for pediatric patients with NDDs including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Experience in these areas is strongly recommended.

Evaluation Responsibilities:

The psychologist will primarily conduct evidence-based clinical assessment for patients (2 – 18 years) with suspected NDDs. Preferred 2+ years of experience providing cognitive and psychological assessments, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient/family education. Proficiency in the administration and scoring of the Autism Diagnostic Observations Scheduled, Second Edition (ADOS-2), as well as cognitive, psychological, and neuropsychological assessment tools commonly used with pediatric populations.

 

Treatment Responsibilities:

The psychologist will also provide clinical support for our Social Skills Group Training program. Additional individual and group therapy responsibilities are determined based on interest and expertise.

  • Social Skills Groups - The psychologist will co-lead evidenced based social skills group training for children, adolescents, and young adults with ASD and other neurodevelopmental concerns.

Experience with social skills training in a group setting is a plus.

 

  • Individual and Group Treatment for Anxiety – Based on interest and experience, the psychologist has an opportunity to join the MIND anxiety treatment team and conduct assessments focused on differential diagnosis of anxiety disorders, provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) based on exposure/response prevention (EX/RP) for youth from toddlerhood through age 17, provide 1:1 supervision to intern and postdoctoral level trainees in the provision of CBT, and provide training and workshops to community providers and educators regarding the use of CBT strategies for youth with autism. In addition to individual therapy, the psychologist has opportunities to lead/co-lead a 14-week anxiety therapy group utilizing the Facing Your Fears program. Clinical care will focus primarily on youth with NDDs with anxiety but also includes typically developing patients.

Preferred 2+ years of experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety, including EX/RP, to youth with and without autism. Preferred relevant experience in the provision of workshops/trainings/supervision to providers and educators related to applying CBT to young individuals affected by autism.

 

General Requirements: 

Ideal candidates have experience in both clinical assessment and CBT anxiety treatment; however, candidates with either type of experience will be considered and are strongly encouraged to apply.   Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA/CPA accredited program, have completed a pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency in related field. We are currently recruiting for several Child / Pediatric Psychology faculty positions in the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Center for Autism.  We are looking to build a strong team of psychologists.  We have newly approved positions to bring together psychologists at all career levels in the expansion of the Center for Autism.  There are unique opportunities to be part of this growth and develop career interests

 

The center provides a range of clinical services for children and their families to include diagnostic evaluation, outpatient therapeutic services, a specialized educational program, and consultation services.  The center also has an active clinical research program supported by several federal grants.  There is further opportunity to develop or bring individual research interests. 

 

Opportunities: The psychologist positions will provide diagnostic evaluations and other therapeutic services based on experience.  There are further opportunities to actively participate in research and program development / leadership as we continue to grow.   All positions offer flexibility in responsibilities .

 Faculty Appointment:  A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

 

Qualifications: Doctorate in clinical, developmental or educational psychology, with APA approved internship, licensure or licensure eligibility in Ohio and one year of experience in child clinical or pediatric psychology setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the evaluation of Autism Spectrum Disorder and the implementation of evidenced-based intervention approaches with individuals and families.

The Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders, a division of Maine Behavioral Healthcare, is seeking a Psychologist to focus on assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with co-occurring behavioral and emotional challenges. The position provides outpatient behavioral and psychological treatment for this population, supported by a clinical team of other providers. This is an exciting opportunity for an academically-inclined psychologist to join a growing, nationally-recognized program that includes treatment, research and professional training for this population.

This position is full-time and will join an expert multi-disciplinary team in the care of children, adolescent and adults with developmental disorders and co-occurring behavioral health challenges. Multiple clinical research studies are being performed in our service, producing a rich learning environment, in addition to a bi-weekly DD case conference and access to a multi-level system of care for the population. This position joins a group of 4 psychologists and 9 BCBAs specializing in the population, together serving an exciting and growing specialty program that extends from acute inpatient to partial hospital to day treatment and outpatient clinic.

This position is in the new Glickman Lauder Center of Excellence facility, a 28,000 square foot free-standing center dedicated to the population. Competitive salary and a strong benefits package is available, including paid CEU days and $1,500 CEU allowance. PhD or PsyD and licensed/license eligible in Maine required. Qualifications:

·        Licensure or license eligible as a PhD or PsyD in the State of Maine required.

·        Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst OR significant training in the use of ABA principles to assess and treat problem behaviors.

·        Must display strong interpersonal, planning, analytical skills, professionalism, and maturity.

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills.

The nationally recognized Thompson Center for Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders is expanding its depth and breadth in translational research on autism and related disorders and seeks talented research professors (all ranks available) whose clinical research focuses on autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

Moreover, the Thompson Center is home to a well-established research and training cores from which to launch effectiveness trials, implementation and dissemination research, and other community-oriented patient-centered outcomes research. This opportunity presents unique opportunities for scientists with Ph.D. and/or MD/DO degrees who:

Exemplify team science approaches into the biological basis, neuroimaging, genetics, cell biology, etc., diagnosis, disease progression, treatment (defined broadly to include behavioral treatments, drug discovery, drug repurposing, therapies, assistive devices, etc.), comparative effectiveness, and health policy relevant to autism and other cognitive and related neurodevelopmental disorders.

Are eager to use animal models that can leverage our current strengths in veterinary research and the abilities we uniquely have at Mizzou. With expertise and interest in the dissemination and implementation of research. Can leverage the exceptionally strong state-wide relationships and training infrastructure at the Thompson Center and the university’s Extension program. Will conduct research using state-of-the-art neuro-imaging equipment and establish team science collaborations with imaging faculty experts and staff offered by NextGen. Would benefit from access to a large and highly engaged patient population at the Thompson Center would be especially well suited to these positions. Clinician scientists who span both clinical care and basic science approaches are ideal candidates.

Clinician Scientists can expect up to 20% clinical time, with the remaining time made up of established research funding and dedicated start-up time.

These faculty will have an academic home in the School of Medicine as appropriate with their discipline and may also have joint appointments in The School of Health Professions with their disciplinary “home” department where applicable.
